How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Melt-Out Operative – Northamptonshire – Salary DOE + Overtime + Benefits – REF 062

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading advanced manufacturing organisation specialising in high-performance carbon fibre components supplied across a range of industries including automotive, motorsport, aerospace, and medical.

    With decades of experience and a strong reputation for precision, quality, and fast turnaround, the business continues to grow and invest in its people and processes. This is a great opportunity to join a skilled team in a fast-paced, high-quality engineering environment.

    The Role:

    • Assist with the preparation and finishing of patterns and moulds used in composite manufacturing
    • Carry out hand finishing using a variety of tools, including air tools and abrasives
    • Apply sealers to patterns and complete post-spray preparation
    • Work from engineering drawings and standard operating procedures
    • Support continuous improvement of processes to enhance quality and efficiency
    • Ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working order
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

    Skills & Experience Needed:

    • Previous experience in a pattern shop or similar manufacturing environment
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards
    • Ability to follow instructions and work to defined processes
    • Good understanding of health and safety in a workshop environment
    • Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
