How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced, highly automated manufacturing site in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established engineering team within a business that continues to invest in its people, processes, and technology.

    As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of production equipment across the site. Working in a 12-hour shift pattern (days and nights), you’ll be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance, helping to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency.

    Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer - Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of automated production machinery
    Diagnose faults and carry out electrical and mechanical repairs efficiently
    Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance
    Work collaboratively with production teams to reduce downtime and improve output
    Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and site standards
    Contribute to root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
    Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer - About You:

    Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a highly automated manufacturing environment
    Strong electrical engineering background and relevant qualifications
    Experience working with automated or high-speed machinery is essential
    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, shift-based environment
    Proactive approach with a strong focus on reliability and continuous improvement
    Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)
