This is a senior role for someone who cares deeply about how a business actually works.
The Operating Systems Lead owns the internal operating system: the workflows, systems, controls, information flows and ways of working that enable a fast‑growing organisation to run clearly, safely and reliably.
You're not here to write strategy decks or refresh tools for the sake of it.
You're here to observe how work really happens, find where things break under pressure, and redesign the system so it holds as the business scales.
Responsibilities
Owning and improving the organisation's internal operating system - across workflows, systems, data, governance and behaviours
Leading a business‑wide systems review and improvement programme, starting with listening, understanding risks and friction, then making practical improvements real

Making sure changes stick in practice - not just launched, but used and trusted
Improving how information flows and creating clearer sources of truth, reducing duplication and reliance on memory or heroics
Embedding controls, governance and risk management into normal work, without slowing people down
Introducing automation or AI where it genuinely helps, and redesigning workflows so human judgement and accountability remain clear
Working closely with enablement and communications colleagues so new ways of working are understood, adopted and reinforced
Acting as a calm, critical systems thinker in a fast‑paced environment - helping prioritise what really matters and resisting unnecessary changeWhat success looks like
Workflows are easier to follow and more consistent
Less manual work, duplication and workaround behaviour
Systems support real work, not idealised processes
Governance works without adding drag
New ways of working are used consistently, even under pressure
Nothing important relies on individual memory or heroicsSkills and Experience

Strong judgement and calm thinking in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments
Experience balancing pace, usability, risk and control
A track record of making change stick, not just delivering programmes
Comfort influencing senior stakeholders without hiding behind process or authority
An interest in AI and automation that is practical, not novelty‑drivenExperience in professional services, scaling organisations, regulated or high‑trust environments is particularly valuable.
