How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CT19 is working with an emerging cleantech organisation focused on advancing sustainable solutions for complex materials. With applications across multiple industrial sectors, the business is developing scalable technologies designed to reduce waste and support circularity.


    The company is experiencing significant growth and is now recruiting a Research Scientist – focused on materials R&D, chemical innovation and process development. You will play a key role in developing and scaling novel chemical technologies, designing and executing experiments, and generating high-quality data to support both internal R&D and external projects.


    Materials Scientist responsibilities

    Research & Development

    • Design and execute structured experimental programmes with clear objectives
    • Generate, analyse and interpret data using appropriate analytical and statistical tools
    • Contribute to the development of new research directions and innovative concepts

    Materials Chemistry & Analysis

    • Apply knowledge of chemical and materials systems to support recycling and process innovation
    • Utilise analytical techniques (e.g. Spectroscopic, thermal, chromatographic methods)
    • Support development of robust methodologies for data capture and validation

    Innovation & IP Development

    • Contribute to the generation and documentation of intellectual property
    • Support the development of scalable solutions aligned with business objectives


    Research Scientist requirements

    • Degree qualification (ideally PhD level) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field
    • Strong understanding of experimental design, data analysis and interpretation
    • Experience with analytical techniques (e.g. Spectroscopy, thermal analysis, chromatography)
    • Knowledge of laboratory safety, risk assessments and standard procedures
    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment


    Desirable:

    • Experience with composite materials or advanced polymers
    • Familiarity with materials testing methods (e.g. Mechanical or surface analysis techniques)
    • Experience in applied or industrial R&D environments
    • Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE) or advanced data analysis
    • Understanding of sustainability metrics, LCA or techno-economic analysis
    • Experience supporting scale-up from laboratory to pilot scale
