How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking a Permanent Senior Electronics Engineer to join our client based in the South of England. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in power supply design to step into a key position, replacing a longstanding team member nearing retirement. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading power supply projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring all designs meet rigorous standards and specifications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external testing facilities, contributing to innovative solutions and maintaining high levels of quality and reliability in all deliverables. The role requires an organisation-driven mindset, with the ability to take ownership of projects and deliver results aligned with industry standards and customer expectations.

    Significant experience designing power supplies from concept to project completion

    Proficient in topology selection, circuit design, and component selection

    Experience with magnetics design, including transformers

    Ability to design to harsh EMC, environmental, shock, and vibration requirements

    Hands-on experience with debugging, verification, and validation processes

    Proficiency in PCB layout

    Experience working with third-party test facilities and writing technical reports such as test plans, acceptance specifications, and design reports

    Knowledge of industry standards for power supply design and testing

    Strong communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with internal teams and clients

    Ability to contribute to the enhancement of internal engineering design tools
