Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a committed and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive school in Corby.
About the Role:
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who may be experiencing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you will help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with mental health needs
Assist in the implementation of personalised support plans
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
Build strong, trusting relationships with students
Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and engagement
Liaise with SENCOs, pastoral staff, and external professionals where requiredThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable)
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine interest in mental health and education
