How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Light to Heavy Vehicle Technician – Ayr
    £35,000 – £45,000 DOE (£18ph) + Overtime + Bonus | Rotating Shifts | Early Finish Fridays
    We’re recruiting for a Light to Heavy Vehicle Technician to join a modern, well-equipped workshop in Ayr. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technician looking to progress from light vehicles into HGVs, with full training, qualifications, and long-term career development provided.

    Working Pattern
    Rotating shifts with early Friday finishes:
    Dayshift:
    Mon–Thurs: 08:00 – 16:45
    Fri: 08:00 – 13:30
    Backshift:
    Mon–Thurs: 14:30 – 22:30
    Fri: 12:30 – 21:00
    Optional overtime:
    Saturday (after backshift week): 07:00 – 13:00
    The Role
    * Service, maintain & repair LCVs and HGVs
    * Diagnose mechanical, electrical & electronic faults
    * Carry out MOT prep & DVSA safety inspections
    * Complete warranty work to manufacturer standards
    * Accurately record all work using digital systems
    * Work collaboratively to maintain workshop efficiency
    About You
    * Experience with light commercial vehicles and/or HGVs
    * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
    * Strong diagnostic skills and a proactive attitude
    * Keen to develop, upskill, and progress your career
