Are you a passionate and engaging primary teacher looking for a rewarding role within a beautiful, intimate school setting? This Year 1 Class Teacher position offers the chance to join a warm and welcoming environment where you’ll be teaching a small class of 13 pupils, supported by a friendly and collaborative team.
We are partnering with one of Carrington Wood’s valued clients in East Devon who are seeking a confident and nurturing practitioner to provide full classroom teaching and support throughout the week. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a setting known for its caring ethos.
What You’ll Be Doing
✔ Delivering engaging and high-quality teaching to a Year 1 class of 13 children
✔ Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
✔ Creating a supportive, inspiring and safe classroom environment
✔ Leading two after-school clubs (Lego on Wednesday / Colouring on Thursday)
✔ Working collaboratively with the wider team to uphold the school’s values
✔ Ensuring a positive learning experience for all pupils
Working Hours
🕗 Monday: 8am – 4pm
🕗 Tuesday: 8am – 4pm
🕗 Wednesday: 8am – 5pm (includes Lego club)
🕗 Thursday: 8am – 5pm (includes colouring club)
🕗 Friday: 8am – 4pm
Breaks:
✔ 30 minutes paid lunch with students
✔ 30 minutes unpaid lunch break
What We’re Looking For
💡 Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
💡 Experience within KS1 or Early Years
💡 A warm, engaging and enthusiastic teaching style
💡 Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
💡 Someone reliable, committed and eager to contribute to a close-knit school community
