How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Location: Dunfermline (with UK site work)
    Division: Site Services
    Employment Type: Permanent
Hourly rate: Competitive, dependent on experience + benefits

    About Langfields

Langfields is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business with a heritage spanning over a century. We specialise in high-integrity fabrication, welding and site services for highly regulated and technically demanding industries including nuclear, hydrogen, chemical processing, energy and renewables.

Our Site Services division supports customers nationwide, delivering planned and reactive site works, shutdowns, turnarounds and on-site welding solutions. When not deployed to site, personnel are integrated into our regional workshops to maintain continuity of work and skill development.

    The Role

We are seeking a permanent Coded Welder to join our Site Services team, based from our Dunfermline facility. The role will involve working on customer sites across the UK, carrying out high-quality coded welding activities. When not required on site, the successful candidate will be based at our Dunfermline workshop, supporting fabrication and manufacturing operations.

This role is ideal for an experienced coded welder looking for long-term stability while continuing to work on varied, high-specification projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Carry out coded welding activities on site and within the Dunfermline workshop

    *

Weld to approved WPS and quality standards across a range of industrial applications

    *

Work across multiple welding processes, materials and positions

    *

Contribute to the fabrication and repair of pressure-retaining and structural components

    *

Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship

    *

Comply with all site HSE requirements and Langfields quality systems

    Ideal Candidate

    *

Time-served Welder with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification

    *

Competent in TIG, MMA, FCAW and MIG welding processes

    *

Experience welding a variety of materials including carbon steels, stainless steels, duplex steels and nickel alloys, in multiple welding positions

    *

Previous welding codings to ASME IX and EN standards (current codings desirable but not essential)

    *

Proven experience working on pressure vessels, pipework, steelwork and heat exchangers

    *

Strong understanding of welding procedures, quality requirements and traceability

    *

Safety-conscious, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a site and workshop team

    *

Based within a commutable distance of Dunfermline

    What We Offer

    *

Permanent employment with a respected engineering business

    *

A mix of site-based work and workshop fabrication

    *

    Competitive salary and benefits package

    *

Opportunities to work on complex, high-integrity projects across multiple sectors

    *

Supportive working environment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality
