How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Design Engineer

    c£40k + Pension, Life Assurance, Flexible Working

    Mechanical Design Engineer - The Role:

    Design components and products, supporting ongoing product development and innovation
    Create detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and bills of materials for production
    Implement engineering design changes and product modifications as required
    Generate, maintain and validate technical documentation and product data
    Manage and update product parameters within the ERP system
    Conduct testing and validation
    Support the creation of sales and promotional technical materials
    Produce and maintain production-related documentation
    Respond to and resolve customer technical enquiries
    Contribute to continuous improvement of design and engineering processes
    Ensure compliance with internal processes and quality standards
    Work in line with company quality policy, KPIs and regulatory/statutory requirements
    Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment

    Mechanical Design Engineer - The Person:

    Proficient in 3D CAD modelling for components and assemblies (ideally SolidWorks)
    Strong ability to produce accurate and detailed manufacturing drawings
    Good understanding of machining and fabrication processes
    Effective communicator, both written and verbal, able to engage with internal teams and customers
    Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and best practices

    Located in Lincolnshire, this role would be commutable from Lincoln, Gratham, Newark-on-Trent, Nottingham and other surrounding areas.
