We are currently working with a well-established mechanical contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team based in Glasgow. This role will involve pricing and supporting a wide range of mechanical projects across Scotland.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the tendering and pre-construction process, producing accurate and competitive estimates across a variety of mechanical projects.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical packages (HVAC, ductwork, pipework, plumbing systems)

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

Carrying out full take-offs and producing BOQs

Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations

Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options

Supporting the submission of competitive tenders within deadlines

Liaising with internal project and commercial teams

Requirements

Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services sector

Strong understanding of HVAC, ductwork, and mechanical installations

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Experience producing BOQs and detailed cost breakdowns

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

Excellent communication and organisational skills
