Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technician to support the assembly and development of e-motors and inverters within a high-performance engineering environment. This role combines hands-on build responsibility with process development, continuous improvement, and mentoring of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly in line with build schedules, SOPs, and production systems
Perform testing, measurement, and accurate recording of production data
Support the development and optimisation of build processes and assembly instructions
Assist Manufacturing Engineers with SOP creation and continuous improvement activities
Investigate faults and support strip-down analysis of failed units
Ensure tooling and equipment are maintained, calibrated, and fit for purpose
Contribute to quality, safety, and audit processes (including 6S and safety observations)
Mentor and train team members to enhance capability and performance
Support KPI reporting and departmental performance trackingRequirements:
Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering workshop (automotive, aerospace, or motorsport)
Strong mechanical assembly experience to high standards
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office) and strong numeracy/literacy
Proven problem-solving ability and proactive approach to continuous improvementDesirable:
Experience with electrical testing, including high-voltage systems
Understanding of electrical circuits
Familiarity with 3D CAD viewing softwareWorking Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm | Friday: 7:00am – 12:00pm
