How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Streetworks Coordinator

    Location: St Albans
    Salary: £32,000 – £40,000
    Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

    About the Role

    We are currently recruiting for a Streetworks Coordinator to join a well-established organisation within the civil engineering and infrastructure sector.

    This role is key to ensuring that works are delivered in line with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA). You will work closely with project teams, local authorities, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, coordination, and efficient delivery of streetworks activities.

    Key Responsibilities
    Raising and managing Streetworks permits through internal systems
    Ensuring all works comply with NRSWA legislation and avoiding breaches
    Maintaining accurate schedules and tracking project requirements
    Coordinating with third parties (e.g. road closures, parking suspensions, bus stop suspensions)
    Managing Section 50 licences
    Reviewing and responding to Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and Section 74 charges
    Producing reports for planned and ongoing works
    Liaising with Highway Authorities and responding to comments or change requests
    Supporting project planning meetings and programme delivery
    Contributing to KPI reporting and performance targets
    Requirements

    Essential:

    Experience working with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA)
    Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
    Good communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels
    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    Desirable:

    Experience coordinating permits and streetworks activities
    Strong organisational and time management skills
    Confident liaising with stakeholders including local authorities
    Ability to work proactively and meet deadlines
