How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Resident Summer School Matron – Oxford
    Summer Holiday Contract (30th June - 15th August 2026)
Salary: £35,000 per annum, pro rata (which equates to £5,116 for training + the six-week summer school period) plus accommodation
Are you looking to make an impact and stretch your skills this summer? If so, read on, because our client is not just any old summer school. They’re an education company on a mission: to give students the edge to help them succeed, find their purpose and make a difference in the world.
They’re striving for a world in which young people go on to do things which maximise their potential, are socially impactful and make them happy.
They help to do this by running summer programmes for bright 12-18 year olds from around the world, giving them greater awareness of the range of academic and career possibilities that exist, and greater certainty over the future direction they wish to pursue. They run summer courses in Oxford and online, as well as online internships and conferences throughout the year.
At the summer school, they aim to transform their students' ambitions and their thinking in just two weeks. For students this is not just a summer school; it’s the most memorable summer of their lives.
If this sounds like something you are passionate about too, we’d welcome an application from you.
They have a vacancy this summer for a Matron for the Summer holidays. The Matron’s role provides a significant and important contribution to the overall welfare of the pupils. The role also includes being the first point of call, as first aider, if a student is feeling unwell, liaising closely with the Pastoral team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join the organisation and a competitive rate of pay is on offer commensurate with this important role.
They are looking for a Matron who is willing to throw themselves into the experience, actively participating in the programme to give the students a memorable experience. The role requires working six days in seven. This is a residential role, and onsite accommodation will be provided.
