Ceto Talent is recruiting a Rolling Stock Technical Engineer for a permanent position with a well‑established railway company based in South East London. This is a depot‑based engineering role supporting a modern rolling stock fleet within a safety‑critical, highly regulated operating environment.
The role operates on a 24/7 shift pattern and offers long‑term stability, structured technical training, and exposure to complex fault‑finding and diagnostics activity.
About You
* Proven experience in a maintenance or engineering environment involving complex technical assets
* Substantial experience in fault‑finding, diagnostics, and technical investigation
* Ability to work independently when responding to technical incidents
* Experience within the railway industry is beneficial, with automotive or similar safety‑critical engineering backgrounds also considered
* Confidence interpreting technical data to support safe and proportionate operational decisions
* Holds a valid UK driving licence
* Eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis
Responsibilities
You will support maintenance operations through on‑site and remote technical assistance, investigate in‑service faults and failures, analyse diagnostic data, contribute to defect trend analysis, and produce clear technical reports to support fleet reliability and operational performance.
