How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Temporary Mains Electrical Team Lead

    Technical Events Team
    Location: Birmingham
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on skills and experience
    Contract: Annualised hours (flexible shift patterns)

    About the Role

    We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mains Services Team Lead to join our Technical Events Team. This is a hands-on, multi‑skilled role suited to a professional with an electrical bias, who thrives in a fast‑paced, live-events environment.

    You will lead the installation, testing, and removal of temporary mains distribution services to support a broad range of major events and exhibitions. Working to demanding deadlines, you will take ownership of service delivery while ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and customer service.

    This role requires flexibility, strong leadership skills, and a positive, solutions‑focused attitude.

    Key Responsibilities

    Event Delivery & Planning

    Lead the installation, testing, and removal of temporary mains services for live events
    Plan and organise work schedules to meet challenging event deadlines
    Work collaboratively within the wider Technical Events Team to ensure seamless event preparationHealth, Safety & Compliance

    Ensure all works are carried out in line with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
    Adhere to Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks
    Promote safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment at all timesAdministration & Reporting

    Accurately document all tasks in line with managed services procedures
    Maintain electronic and paper records using site‑specific systems
    Report on asset condition, identifying required upgrades and repairsFinancial & Resource Management

    Manage consumable stores responsibly to prevent waste
    Support efficient use of materials and resourcesCustomer & Professional Standards

    Present a professional image at all times
    Deliver excellent customer service to clients and stakeholders
    Maintain and develop technical and professional skills through continuous learningAdditional Duties

    Support other areas of the managed services contract when required
    Undertake additional duties as requested by management

    Skills & Experience (Desirable)

    NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Plumbing
    City & Guilds 18th Edition
    City & Guilds 2330 / 2360 Level 3 or equivalent
    Awareness of other mechanical services such as compressed air and gas
    Strong communication skills at all levels
    Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
    Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    Forklift driving licence

    Reporting Line

    Accountable to the Technical Events Team Supervisor
