How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Design Engineer – Havant – up to £60,000 dependent on experience

    We are recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer for a well-established manufacturing business based in Havant.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a global leader in its sector and a company we know well, having previously recruited successfully into the team, including the manager this role reports to.

    The role is open to both graduate-level engineers looking to build their career and more experienced electrical design engineers seeking their next challenge within a specialist engineering and manufacturing environment.

    The Role

    As Electrical Design Engineer, you will:

    * Support the design and development of electrical and electronic systems for a range of products

    * Develop electrical circuits across AC and DC systems

    * Assist with fault-finding and technical problem solving

    * Support the commissioning and maintenance of electric motors, switching circuits and motor controllers

    * Provide technical support and training to clients and end users where required

    * Contribute to design reviews and wider engineering projects

    The Person

    To be successful in this role of Electrical Design Engineer, you will ideally have:

    * A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or previous experience in a similar design engineering role

    * An interest in electrical design, development and problem solving

    * Experience or knowledge of electrical circuit design across AC and DC systems

    * Exposure to PLC programming, ideally Siemens PLCs, would be advantageous

    * Experience or knowledge of electric motors, switching circuits and motor controllers would be beneficial

    * Experience of electro-mechanical assemblies would be an advantage

    * Candidates from a range of engineering and manufacturing backgrounds will be considered.
