Are you looking to start a career in engineering inspection and quality assurance? We are seeking a motivated NDT Trainee to join our team, where you’ll gain hands-on experience and training in industry-approved non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
About the Role
As an NDT Trainee, you will work alongside experienced technicians to develop your skills in inspecting materials using a range of approved NDT methods. Over time, you will become competent in ensuring materials meet required standards and are released without defects or non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Key Responsibilities
* Support NDT Technicians in carrying out inspections using approved NDE/NDT techniques
* Assist in ensuring all materials meet defined quality standards with zero NCRs
* Work alongside third-party inspectors and witnesses during inspections
* Learn and apply inspection procedures across various stages of production
* Contribute to both in-house and on-site inspection activities
What We’re Looking For
* A strong interest in the forging and/or welding industry
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Willingness to learn and follow instructions accurately
* Good communication and problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail and decision-making ability
* Basic understanding of engineering drawings (or willingness to learn)
* Awareness of NDT procedures/specifications (desirable but not essential)
* Flexible, adaptable, and able to meet tight deadlines
Performance Expectations
* Support the delivery of NDT inspections at all production stages
* Ensure inspected materials meet quality standards with no NCRs
* Develop technical competence in a range of NDT techniques
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) including Maths and English
(Candidates without formal qualifications must demonstrate strong numerical ability)
* Good eyesight (aided or unaided) to meet mandatory NDT vision standards
* Physical fitness suitable for working in industrial environments
