How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    NDT Trainee (Non-Destructive Testing)

Are you looking to start a career in engineering inspection and quality assurance? We are seeking a motivated NDT Trainee to join our team, where you’ll gain hands-on experience and training in industry-approved non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.

    About the Role

As an NDT Trainee, you will work alongside experienced technicians to develop your skills in inspecting materials using a range of approved NDT methods. Over time, you will become competent in ensuring materials meet required standards and are released without defects or non-conformance reports (NCRs).

    Key Responsibilities

    * Support NDT Technicians in carrying out inspections using approved NDE/NDT techniques

    * Assist in ensuring all materials meet defined quality standards with zero NCRs

    * Work alongside third-party inspectors and witnesses during inspections

    * Learn and apply inspection procedures across various stages of production

    * Contribute to both in-house and on-site inspection activities

    What We’re Looking For

    * A strong interest in the forging and/or welding industry

    * Ability to work effectively as part of a team

    * Willingness to learn and follow instructions accurately

    * Good communication and problem-solving skills

    * Strong attention to detail and decision-making ability

    * Basic understanding of engineering drawings (or willingness to learn)

    * Awareness of NDT procedures/specifications (desirable but not essential)

    * Flexible, adaptable, and able to meet tight deadlines

    Performance Expectations

    * Support the delivery of NDT inspections at all production stages

    * Ensure inspected materials meet quality standards with no NCRs

    * Develop technical competence in a range of NDT techniques

    Qualifications & Requirements

    * Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) including Maths and English
(Candidates without formal qualifications must demonstrate strong numerical ability)

    * Good eyesight (aided or unaided) to meet mandatory NDT vision standards

    * Physical fitness suitable for working in industrial environments

    Why Join Us?

    * Structured training and development in a specialist engineering field

    * Opportunity to build a long-term career in NDT and inspection

    * Hands-on experience in real-world industrial environments

If you’re detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in engineering quality and inspection, this is a great opportunity to begin your career in NDT
