Gold Education Recruitment is currently working with a supportive secondary school in Chelmsford, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher with a Biology specialism to join their department on a maternity cover contract starting in June.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver high-quality Science lessons, with a focus on Biology, while providing continuity for students during this period.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Biology (KS5 if applicable)
• Planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
• Supporting students of mixed abilities to make consistent progress
• Preparing students for GCSE examinations in Biology
• Assessing work and providing clear, constructive feedback
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Working collaboratively within a supportive Science department
What We’re Looking For:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Specialism in Biology with strong subject knowledge
• Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school
• A positive, organised, and professional approach
• Ability to build strong relationships with students
• ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
