How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a friendly and supportive team at a secondary school located in North Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in the lives of their pupils.

    You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, fostering a positive classroom environment, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Teaching and Learning

    Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum.

    Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress and attainment.

    Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all learners.

    Curriculum and Assessment

    Use a range of assessment strategies to inform planning and support pupil progress.

    Track pupil data and contribute to school-wide monitoring and reporting.

    Pupil Support and Well-being

    Promote the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils.

    Identify and support pupils with additional needs, liaising with SENCO and external agencies where appropriate.

    Maintain high expectations for behaviour and attitudes to learning.

    Collaboration and Communication

    Work effectively with teaching assistants, support staff, and other colleagues.

    Communicate regularly with parents/carers about pupil progress and well-being.

    Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events.

    Classroom and Resource Management

    Organise and maintain a stimulating classroom environment.

    Ensure resources are used effectively and safely.

    Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

    Professional Development

    Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.

    Contribute to school improvement initiatives and curriculum development.

    Stay informed about educational research, policy, and best practice.

    Requirements:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

    Experience teaching Geography (ECTs welcome to apply)

    A commitment to inclusive education and pupil well-being

    Strong classroom management and communication skills

    Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents

    Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
