How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Installation Technician – Radio Communications Systems

    About the Role
    We are looking for a practical and motivated Installation Technician to support the deployment of two-way radio communication systems across a variety of environments.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on installation or construction experience who is looking to develop a long-term career within a growing technical field. You will work as part of a skilled team, installing and supporting systems designed by in-house engineers, with full training and guidance provided.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Install cabling in line with technical drawings and site plans

    * Mount and secure system components such as splitters, couplers, and terminations

    * Assist with system testing, including continuity checks and basic diagnostics

    * Support the installation of communication equipment and associated power systems

    * Record installation progress through site notes and photographic evidence

    * Follow established safety procedures, method statements, and risk assessments

    * Work closely with site teams and engineers to ensure projects are delivered to specification

    * Assist with fault finding during installation and testing phases

    * Maintain tools, equipment, and site materials

    Skills and Experience

    * Comfortable using a range of hand tools and installation equipment

    * Practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detail

    * Willingness to work in a variety of environments, including at height or in confined spaces where required

    * Full UK driving licence

    * Relevant site certifications (e.g. CSCS/ECS or equivalent)

    * Experience working on construction or infrastructure sites

    * Basic understanding of cabling systems or low-voltage installations

    * Ability to interpret simple technical drawings or layouts

    * Awareness of health and safety practices on active sites

    * Experience using basic testing equipment
