How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Survey Engineer
    Location: Banbury / Brackley / Aylesbury (South East – between Oxford & Northampton)
    Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE)
    Contract: Permanent, Full Time

    A well-established and growing surveying firm is seeking an experienced Senior Land / Measured Building Surveyor to join their team supporting key projects across the South East region, primarily around Banbury, Brackley and Aylesbury.
    This role is ideal for an experienced survey professional with strong site engineering, setting-out and measured surveying ability who wants long-term career progression within a supportive, RICS regulated organisation.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Carry out a wide range of site surveying duties including setting out, levelling, establishing site control and as-built surveys.
    * Complete monitoring surveys, cut-and-fill calculations and produce high-quality reports.
    * Support the planning, execution and delivery of surveys, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
    * Manage resources, equipment and survey data in line with company procedures.
    * Work collaboratively with surveyors and assistant surveyors, offering guidance where required.
    * Liaise confidently with clients, contractors and stakeholders on site.
    * Represent the company professionally at all times and uphold strong health & safety standards.
    Required Experience
    * Ideally 5+ years’ industry experience.
    * Minimum 2 years’ hands-on setting out experience.
    * Strong practical background with proven on-site learning.
    * Proficiency in AutoCAD, surveying instruments (manual + robotic Total Station), and general site engineering principles.
    Candidates who meet most of the criteria but not all will still be considered if they can demonstrate strong relevant experience.
