How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Subject Lead Food Technology Teacher | Secondary School (Hemel Hempstead Area)
    Full-Time | Permanent | September Start

    Are you an experienced Food Technology teacher ready to take the next step into leadership, or an established Subject Leader looking for a new challenge?

    A well-regarded secondary school in the Hemel Hempstead area is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Subject Leader for Food Technology to lead and develop their Food Technology provision. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of the subject within a supportive school environment that values creativity, practical learning, and student achievement.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in driving high standards of teaching and learning while inspiring students to develop essential life skills and a passion for food, nutrition, and practical learning.

    The Role

    Lead and manage the Food Technology curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4
    Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons
    Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
    Support and develop teaching within the department
    Manage departmental resources, planning, and curriculum development
    Promote a positive and engaging learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    Experience teaching Food Technology within a UK secondary school
    A strong understanding of curriculum planning and assessment
    Leadership experience or the ambition to step into a leadership role
    Excellent organisational and communication skills
