Aspire People are working in partnership with secondary schools in Newport to recruit a Challenging Behaviour Specialist Cover Supervisor for a September start. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced cover supervisor or behaviour specialist who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑need school environment.
The Role:
Supervising whole classes in the absence of the classroom teacher
Managing and supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, including SEMH needs
Implementing effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
Maintaining a calm, safe, and productive learning environment
Working closely with senior leaders and pastoral teams
The Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience working with challenging behaviour in a secondary school or similar setting
Confident classroom presence with strong behaviour management skills
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH / additional needs
Resilient, calm, and consistent approach
Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
