How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Aka Recruitment

    are continuing to support a loyal client of ours as they recruit for a shift manager at their Distribution site in Clay Cross. This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 1.30pm to 10pm. Salary basic is £38,958.40 as well as having additional company benefits

    Job Duties include:

    Maintenance of accurate stock levels and control through real-time stock taking monitoring processes and monthly adjustment checks.

    Preparing reports and advising management on strategies to reduce cost, improve procedures and maximise efficiency.

    Replenishment levels are achieved daily. Branch orders to be picked in full within the given SLA’s.

    Racking management through planning and supporting the Stock Coordinators in their role.

    Use of Data analysis to plan effectively for inbound stock orders from containers.

    Planning and task allocation to organise completion of warehouse shift duties in line with time, cost, and quality targets.

    Make sure all stock is managed in a way that minimises the risk of damage while checking in and putting away.

    Support the identification of ways to reduce costs/waste or inefficiencies.

    Constantly look for ways to improve efficiencies or save costs.

    Requirements:

    Experience in a warehouse or distribution managerial role is highly advantageous

    Knowledge of warehouse systems is essential

    Strong leadership approach

    Good attention to detail
