How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

SIS is looking for dedicated Support Workers to join a brand-new complex service in Macclesfield. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting individuals with complex mental health needs in a bespoke, high-quality care environment.

    What We Offer

    £300 joining bonus

    Competitive pay: £14.50 – £15.00 per hour

Ongoing career development and training opportunities

Skill enhancement within a specialist setting

Excellent pension scheme and healthcare benefits

Enhanced DBS paid for by SIS (T&Cs apply)

    £350 refer-a-friend bonus (T&Cs apply)

    About SIS

As a leading provider of complex mental health and social care services, SIS is committed to delivering outstanding support. We strive for excellence in everything we do, ensuring the people we support receive the highest standards of care.

    The Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Support individuals with complex and enhanced mental health needs

Proactively manage challenging behaviours, including those linked to forensic backgrounds

Promote independence using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach

Help individuals develop essential life skills in a safe, supportive environment

Flexible working options are available, including day shifts, night shifts, part-time, and bank hours.

    About the Service

This service supports individuals transitioning from long-term placements in secure settings, rehabilitation units, and forensic environments. For many, this will be their first step towards semi-independent living.

While the role can be challenging, it offers a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference—helping people rebuild their independence and quality of life within a supportive team setting.

    What We’re Looking For

Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification (or willingness to work towards it)

Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours

A genuine passion for making a difference

    Self-motivated, empathetic, and adaptable individuals

Creativity and initiative within a care setting

This role is subject to safer recruitment processes, including an enhanced DBS check
