How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Halifax, HX2 0DF

    Salary: Competitive

    Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

    Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, with occasional overtime and weekend working

    Compliance Assistant - The Role:

    This is a varied role where you will join the existing compliance team and learn the maintenance of management systems and training requirements within a dynamic, fast-moving operation. You will work with significant data input and analysis, making this ideal if you are looking to develop a career in data analysis, health and safety, or compliance within the transport sector.

    Compliance Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

    - Assist with quality, environmental and health and safety reviews and audits

    - Maintain administrative systems to keep the compliance team informed of planned and operational contracts

    - Document company lifting equipment in line with PUWER and LOLER regulations

    - Update compliance and training records and assist with implementation of requirements

    - Prepare operational data including telematics reports, tachograph uploads and fuel consumption analysis

    - Perform data inputting and analysis to company requirements

    - Update and maintain FORS and other compliance documents

    - Check tachograph downloads for regulatory compliance

    - Assist company trainers with administrative duties and training program preparation

    Compliance Assistant - You:

    - Experience in the transport sector, particularly commercial vehicle maintenance records

    - Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint

    - Demonstrated high competence in documenting, recording and reporting

    - Strong oral and written communication skills with strong numerical ability

    - Interest in current health and safety and environmental legislation developments
