How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Major Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading international automotive company with a significant presence in Shipley area (Commutable from Bradford and West Leeds).
    Our client operates a large factory employing over 700 people and continues to expand across the UK. We are seeking dedicated Manufacturing Operatives to join their dynamic team.
    Your Role as a Production Operative:
    As a Production Operative, you’ll play a key role in assembling essential components using power tools and detailed engineering drawings. You’ll also be involved in operating machinery as part of the production process. This is a physical, practical role ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands and takes pride in precision and quality.
    Shift Pattern
    Week 1: Monday to Thursday: 6:00AM to 14:00PM
    Week 1: Friday: 06:00AM - 11:00AM
    Week 2: Monday to Thursday 14:00PM to 22:00PM
    Week 2 : Friday: 11:00AM - 16:00PM
    * 37 hours per week
    * Early finish every Friday
    What You’ll Be Doing
    * Carrying out basic production duties
    * Building and assembling agricultural vehicle components
    * Operating machinery safely and efficiently
    * Using a variety of power tools
    * Reading and working from detailed technical drawings
    * Performing basic quality checks
    * Working efficiently in a fast-moving production setting
    * Collaborating with your team while also being confident working independently
    What We’re Looking For
    * Experience in production or manufacturing (preferred)
    * Confidence using power tools and machinery
    * Ability to read technical drawings
    * Comfortable with repetitive tasks and heavy lifting
    * Strong communication skills
    * Team player with a proactive attitude
    * Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and timekeeping.
    * Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
