How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Commercial Office (EC1, Central London)

    Location: EC1, Central London
    Contract: Permanent, Full‑Time
    Salary: Upto £47,000 per annum DOE
    Sector: Facilities Management / Commercial Building Services

    Job Overview

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work within a commercial office building in EC1, Central London. This is a permanent position with a well‑established SME facilities management provider, delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance across a modern office environment.

    This position would suit a Commercial Electrical Engineer, FM Engineer, or Building Services Engineer with strong experience in commercial office maintenance and facilities management.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out electrical maintenance within a commercial office environment
    Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works
    Fault finding on lighting systems, power, small power, emergency lighting, and distribution boards
    Electrical testing, inspections, and basic compliance checks
    Minor electrical installation works and repairs
    Ensure compliance with 18th Edition wiring regulations and Health & Safety standards
    Complete job sheets, compliance reports, and CAFM updates
    Maintain a professional and customer‑focused approach at all times

    Candidate Requirements

    NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
    18th Edition (BS7671) – essential
    Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Commercial Electrician
    Experience working in commercial offices, corporate buildings, or facilities management environments
    Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
    Good communication and customer service skills
    Ability to work independently and as part of a small FM team
