How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Aspire People is currently seeking qualified and enthusiastic secondary school teachers to join our pool of day-to-day supply teachers. Whether you're a specialist in a particular subject or able to teach across a range of subjects, we'd love to hear from you!

    As a supply teacher with Aspire People, you'll have the opportunity to work in a variety of secondary schools in Sutton Coldfield. You'll be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring that students continue to learn and make progress in the absence of their regular teacher.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students in accordance with the school's curriculum and guidelines.
    Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a productive and respectful learning environment.
    Adapt to a range of subjects and year groups, depending on the needs of the school.
    Provide feedback to the school on students progress and behaviour.
    Promote a positive and inclusive learning experience for all students.

    What We're Looking For:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
    Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
    Ability to teach across a range of subjects.
    Excellent classroom management skills.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
    Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (on the update service).
