How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Technician

    Role Overview

    Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance duties within a facilities management environment. This is a client‑facing role requiring a proactive and professional approach, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and service delivery.

    You will also act as one of two appointed Authorised Persons (AP) for the Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems on site.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out legislative PPM tasks, including emergency lighting inspection, testing and repair

    * Respond to reactive maintenance tasks across a variety of electrical plant and equipment as directed by the helpdesk

    * Act as Site Authorised Person (AP) for LV systems, fulfilling all associated duties and responsibilities

    * Perform functional switching of the 11kV electrical distribution network

    * Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective corrective actions

    * Complete and review risk assessments and safe systems of work

    * Provide out‑of‑hours call‑out support on a 1‑in‑4 rota basis

    * Adhere to PPM schedules assigned by the site scheduler

    * Support continuous improvement of systems and processes

    * Ensure accurate fault identification and timely implementation of solutions

    Skills & Experience Required

    * 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations

    * Formal electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds Level 3

    * Experience in a similar electrical maintenance role within a facilities management environment

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills

    * Effective decision‑making and problem‑solving ability

    * Professional, client‑focused approach
