Supporting the Manufacturing Manager, you will contribute to delivering against production schedules while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.
The Role
As a Production Operative, you will be responsible for the manufacture and assembly of specialist electronic equipment, ensuring all products are produced in line with technical work instructions and company standards.
You will adopt a strong customer-focused approach, supporting departmental KPIs and contributing to a high-quality end-user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture a range of electronic assemblies and gas detection products using hand tools, soldering equipment and testing systems
Operate gases, tools and equipment safely in line with training and company procedures
Follow detailed work instructions to ensure consistent and high-quality output
Identify and highlight opportunities for process improvement to the Production Engineering team
Maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment aligned to HSE standards
Ensure all products meet strict quality requirements prior to release Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work collaboratively across departments to improve processes and share best practice
Support the implementation and use of digital systems, including ERP and shop floor data tools
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and efficiency improvements Health & Safety
Actively promote and uphold a strong safety culture across the site
Lead by example in adhering to company safety policies and procedures
Support safety audits, investigations and root cause analysis where required
Maintain high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles What We're Looking For
Essential:
Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience in assembly, testing or repair of electronic or mechanical products
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work to targets and follow standard operating procedures
Good communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
Experience using computer systems for data entry and production tracking Desirable:
Knowledge or training in IPC J-STD-001
Understanding of IPC 610 / 620 standards
Experience of continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S or Kaizen Personal Attributes
Positive, proactive and self-motivated
Reliable and adaptable with a flexible approach to work
