How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently recruiting for a leading and prestigious recycling manufacturing company, and due to their continued growth and development they are seeking to employ a Maintenance Engineer for their Lakenheath, Suffolk site, to start ASAP.

    This is a permanent role.

    Basic salary from £40k - £42K DOE however, plenty of opportunity for overtime, paid extra over annual salary.

    Basic working hours are (Apply online only) Monday to Friday with daily overtime available plus Saturday AM (Apply online only) overtime.

    This is a key role within the business that keeps production moving. If fixing, maintaining, and improving machinery is your thing, there’s plenty you can get stuck into here. From shredders and conveyors to augers and motors – you’ll be hands-on with all sorts of kit. And they are all about supporting people who love what they do.

    Day to day, you’ll be keeping production on track – from carrying out routine checks and emergency fixes to changing blades and keeping our kit running safely. You’ll stay on top of the maintenance plan, step in quickly when breakdowns happen, and work with supervisors to keep everything running smoothly. And because they are always looking to get better, they want your ideas on how to improve things too.

    As part of a team, the role involves a blend of PPM and Reactive duties, with experience of conveyors, augers and heavy plant machinery very advantageous, approx. 70/30 ratio of mechanical/electrical.

    You’ll be someone who can roll up your sleeves and get stuck in – confident with a variety of engineering tasks, quick to diagnose problems, and calm under pressure. Team player? Definitely. But also, someone who can take the lead and use their initiative when needed. Above all, they are after a positive, flexible approach and someone they can rely on.

    Mechanical engineering experience is a must, but if you’ve got electrical skills too – even better (and if not, they will train you). A forklift licence would be handy, though again, they can support you with that.

    Benefits include:

    * Life assurance

    * Exclusive discounts at major retailers, restaurants, holidays and much more

    * Generous staff discounts for you and your family

    * Award-winning training and development, with fantastic career prospects

    * Wide range of wellbeing support for you and your family (Employee Assistance Programme)

    * Kwik Fit Club

    * Free MOT

    * Cycle to Work Scheme
    Salary description

    £40000.00 - £42000.00 per year
