My client is a well-established and growing formwork business that are looking for an Assistant Warehouse Manager with a strong Health & Safety background. This role will support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing a busy warehouse operation, ensuring smooth day-to-day running of schedules, logistics, and staffing, whilst taking a lead role in Health & Safety compliance across the site and warehouse. You will be working closely with senior management to improve operational efficiency, maintain high safety standards, and ensure the warehouse is operating at full capacity at all times.
Key role and responsibilities for this Assistant Warehouse Manager Role is:
* Supports the Warehouse Manager in managing all warehouse personnel
* Monitors productivity and daily work schedules of employees
* Ensures warehouse workloads run efficiently and at full capacity
* Leads on all Health & Safety procedures, compliance, and best practice
* Carries out risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations
* Ensures safe systems of work are implemented and followed
* Maintains oversight of stock control, returns, and dispatch accuracy
* Assists with logistics, transport coordination, and shipping operations
* Drives continuous improvement across both operations and H&S
* Records incidents, feedback, and operational performance
Minimum requirements for this Assistant Warehouse Manager Role:
* NEBOSH Level 6 (Diploma or equivalent) – essential
* Proven experience within a warehouse or distribution environment
* Previous supervisory or management experience
* Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
* Experience conducting risk assessments and site audits
* Ability to lead, motivate, and influence teams

* Full UK Driving licence (beneficial but not essential)
