How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a rapidly growing engineering consultancy in their Clerkenwell office. This role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering high-quality structural solutions across a diverse portfolio, while contributing to the continued expansion of a dynamic London team within a wider national business.

You will be joining a collaborative and ambitious team working predominantly on residential and commercial developments, with additional exposure to projects across sectors including education, retail, and industrial sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of projects, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams. As the London office continues to grow, you’ll be well-positioned to progress your career, taking on increased responsibility and influencing the direction of the team.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Structural Engineer ready to step into a senior role, capable of leading projects from concept through to completion. You will be confident in your technical ability, comfortable liaising with clients, and motivated to contribute to both project delivery and team development.

    What’s On Offer

Clear and genuine career progression aligned with the growth of the London office.

Opportunity to lead projects and have a real impact on business development.

Exposure to a varied and interesting project portfolio across multiple sectors.

Support towards chartership and continued professional development.

Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.

A collaborative, supportive team culture within a growing national consultancy.

    What You Need To Succeed

At least five years structural engineering design experience.

Proven experience in structural design across residential and/or commercial projects.

Strong proficiency with relevant design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Tekla, Tedds, Robot, or similar).

Ability to manage projects independently and deliver to deadlines.

Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with client-facing confidence.

Good understanding of UK building regulations and design standards.

Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE/ICE (or actively working towards) is highly desirable.

A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
