How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Science Teacher

    Location: Sheffield
    Salary: Up to £220 per day
    Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
    Start Date: Immediate

    GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to work across a number of secondary schools in Sheffield, delivering engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics and supporting students in building strong scientific understanding.

    About the Role:

    As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering planned Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students are engaged, challenged and supported throughout their learning. You will also play a key role in maintaining practical safety during experiments and supporting student progress across all ability levels.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Deliver Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
    Plan and deliver engaging and structured lessons
    Manage classroom behaviour effectively
    Conduct practical experiments safely and in line with school policy
    Assess and track student progress
    Support students across a range of abilities
    Contribute to a positive and focused learning environment
    Requirements:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    Strong subject knowledge across Science disciplines
    Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
    Ability to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons
    Professional, reliable and adaptable approach
