How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Manufacturing Engineering Manager | Hybrid | South Cambridge | Up to £70,000

I am currently recruiting for a well-established engineering consultancy delivering complex product development programmes across multiple industries. As their project portfolio continues to grow, they’re looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to strengthen their capability across electronics and mechanical product delivery.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on bridging R&D and manufacturing. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products move efficiently from prototype through to scalable production, while building and developing a high-performing team.

    You will be responsible for:

Providing design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) input across engineering projects
Supporting the transition of complex electronic and mechanical products into production
Managing and coordinating external supply chain partners and contract manufacturers
Driving improvements in manufacturing processes, tools, and best practices
Supporting bids and proposals with manufacturing insight
Working closely with project managers and technical teams to deliver programmes
Assessing supplier performance and resolving quality or delivery issues
Leading and developing a small team of engineers and technical specialists
    Required skills:

Strong experience in manufacturing engineering within an electronics or RF-led environment
Background working across the full product development lifecycle
Good understanding of electronics manufacturing processes (e.g. SMT, PCB assemblies)
Experience managing suppliers and contract manufacturers
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
You’ll be working out of their South Cambridge office, on a hybrid basis (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH). This role will also include some occasional travel (once a month) to visit customer sites. The salary on offer for this role is up to £70,000 (DOE), plus benefits.

If you are interested, please apply with your most recently updated CV and I will be in touch to discuss further
