How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical bias), £48,000, Arnold Nottinghamshire, days 8:00am-4:30pm Mon-Fri and around 28 shift cover annually.

    OTE of £55,000 thanks to overtime (paid at 1.5x and 2x) and bonuses. Generous 10% pension, plus other site-specific benefits.

    The Opportunity

    We are recruiting for a maintenance engineer to join a large, well-invested site that forms part of a nationally recognised group. This is a high-performing facility with state-of-the-art machinery and an experienced engineering team. You’ll benefit from an excellent rota that allows for regular long weekends off while earning a strong base salary and enjoying long-term job security.

    The Role

    As a maintenance engineer, you’ll work with a range of heavy-duty automated machinery including:

    Large mixers and slicers
    Conveyors, silos, and hoppers
    Kilns, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems
    Your focus will be 70% reactive and 30% PPM, using a tablet system for job tracking. This role places a strong emphasis on mechanical maintenance and repair. You’ll need to be confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and chains. Fabrication and welding experience is a plus.

    The Person We’re Looking For

    To succeed in this role as a maintenance engineer, you’ll need:

    A strong background in mechanical maintenance within industrial or manufacturing environments
    Experience working on gearboxes, motors, belts, pulleys, hydraulics, and pneumatics
    Confidence with strip-downs, rebuilds, and reactive mechanical fault diagnosis
    An NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in engineering (ex-Forces welcome)
    A proactive attitude and flexibility for overtime and development
