How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Dumper & Roller Driver / Groundworker

    Location: Chelmsford (CM1)

    Company: Barker Ross

    Rate: £21.00 - £22.00 per hour

    Start Date: Monday, April 20th

    Duration: Long-term for the right candidate

    Barker Ross is looking for a reliable and hard-working operative for a residential project in Chelmsford.

    As with any busy groundworks site, you will be expected to work on the ground as part of the team and operate the Dumper or Roller whenever required. This role is perfect for a multi-skilled operative who is happy to "muck in" to get the job done.

    🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

    Operating Forward Tipping Dumpers and Ride-on Rollers as needed.

    Working on the ground assisting with internal and external drainage.

    Assisting with plot work, pipe laying, and general groundworks.

    Working closely with 360 Operators to ensure site efficiency.

    📋 Requirements:

    Tickets: Valid CPCS or NPORS (must have CSCS logo) for Dumper and Roller.

    Experience: Proven experience on groundworks sites, specifically around drainage and plots.

    Attitude: A proactive approach-happy to be on the ground or on the machine depending on site requirements.

    References: Must provide a recent work reference.
