How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Anderson Knight is delighted to be working in partnership with a dynamic and rapidly growing packaging company based in East Kilbride to recruit a results-driven Business Development Manager.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who enjoys securing new business, building strong client relationships, and consistently achieving targets.     Combining office-based work with field sales across Scotland’s Central Belt, this Monday to Friday role (9:00am – 5:00pm) offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to directly influence business performance.

    The Role

    * Lead the development and delivery of growth strategies, identifying new markets and driving revenue across the Central Belt.

    * Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both prospective and existing clients, maximising all sales opportunities.

    * Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer demands to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.

    * Create and deliver persuasive proposals and presentations that clearly communicate value and differentiate the business.

    * Work collaboratively with internal teams, including marketing and product development, to ensure a joined-up and effective approach.

    * Represent the business at networking events, exhibitions, and industry functions to enhance brand visibility and expand your network.

    * Negotiate and close deals with confidence, securing profitable and sustainable business agreements.
