How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you ready to take ownership of a high-impact leadership role where your decisions will shape the future of major highways and infrastructure programmes? This is an opportunity for a Head of Assets, Planning & Feasibility to step into a strategic position, influence senior stakeholders, and drive real change across asset management and pre-construction delivery.

My client is seeking a forward-thinking Head of Assets, Planning & Feasibility who thrives on leading multidisciplinary teams, delivering technical excellence, and embedding best practice across complex infrastructure environments.

You will be joining a well-established infrastructure organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality highways and transport solutions. As the Head of Assets, Planning & Feasibility, you will be doing the following:
·Providing clear, strategic leadership across asset management, planning, and feasibility functions
·Driving high performance across multidisciplinary teams while setting standards for delivery and behaviour
·Overseeing feasibility studies, planning, modelling, and asset strategies to ensure robust, data-driven outputs
·Ensuring all technical work aligns with legislation, industry standards, and governance frameworks
·Leading financial planning, forecasting, and budget management across your service area
·Supporting business cases, funding bids, and commercial decision-making
·Building strong relationships with local authorities, stakeholders, and external partners
·Acting as a senior representative in high-profile or politically sensitive environments
·Embedding best practice, innovation, and continuous improvement across all services
·Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and CDM regulations

To be successful as the Head of Assets, Planning & Feasibility, you will bring:
·Chartered Engineer, Transport Planner status, or equivalent experience
·Significant senior-level experience within highways, transport, or infrastructure environments
·Proven leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams
·Strong expertise in asset management, feasibility, and strategic planning
·In-depth understanding of industry standards, frameworks, and governance
·Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and financial performance
·Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
·Experience working within frameworks, alliances, or multi-agency environments
·Strong project management capability with the ability to manage competing priorities
·Confidence using digital engineering tools, modelling systems, and asset technologies

    In return, you will receive:
·Competitive salary of £77,000 - £89,000 per year dependent on experience
·Opportunity to lead a critical function within a growing infrastructure environment
·Exposure to high-profile and complex programmes
·A collaborative and supportive leadership team
·Long-term career progression and professional development opportunities

This role offers flexibility in working arrangements alongside a strategic leadership position within the pre-construction function. You will have the opportunity to shape both the service and your own career trajectory, with clear pathways for progression.
