How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Are you a Senior Infrastructure Engineer looking for greater ownership, technical influence, and the chance to help shape a growing civil engineering team? This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking consultancy with a strong development pipeline, a genuinely diverse project portfolio, and a proven commitment to internal progression.
Our client is a well-established civil and structural engineering practice with a growing Civil Engineering department. The team is expanding due to continued workload across residential, specialist, and emerging energy-sector developments.

·Specialist developments, including theme parks and nationally recognised attractions
·Emerging energy-sector schemes, such as battery storage and EV infrastructure, including flood risk considerations
The business places strong emphasis on early-stage involvement, giving you exposure to site appraisals, planning input, and detailed design, rather than being limited to delivery-only roles.
    The Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll take responsibility for the technical delivery and coordination of infrastructure design packages, with a strong focus on drainage-led residential schemes. You'll be trusted to deliver complex designs independently while overseeing and developing junior team members.
You will play a key role in resource planning, technical review, and project management, acting as the main point of contact for design coordination on your projects.
    Key Responsibilities

·Produce and review drainage models using Flow and/or Infodrainage
·Lead and review private drainage, external works, and full residential infrastructure design packages
·Deliver highway designs for private developments, including:
    oCar parks and access roads
o3D highway alignments with long sections and cross sections
·Manage and coordinate junior engineers and technicians, allocating tasks and supporting their technical development
·Review technical outputs across the team, providing guidance on drainage and highway design principles
    ·Manage projects end-to-end, including:
    oProducing fee proposals
    oAllocating resources
    oManaging programmes and deadlines
·Liaise with clients, planners, and approving authorities to support planning and technical approvals
You'll have access to a comprehensive suite of modern design software, including:
    ·AutoCAD
    ·Civil 3D
    ·Site 3D
    ·Flow
    ·Infodrainage
·Bluebeam (for reviews, mark-ups, and technical documentation)

    About You
·Strong experience as a Senior Infrastructure / Civil Engineer within a consultancy environment
·Fully competent producing drainage networks independently using Flow or Infodrainage
·Excellent understanding of private drainage and adoptable standards (S104)
·Solid experience delivering residential infrastructure design packages (S38, S104, private drainage, external works)
·Good working knowledge of private highway design standards and 3D highway modelling
·Comfortable reviewing designs and mentoring junior staff
·Experience managing projects, fees, and resources
·Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
    What's on Offer
This consultancy offers a highly attractive package and a genuinely supportive working environment, including:
·High level of technical autonomy and project ownership
·Exposure to diverse and specialist projects, including emerging energy infrastructure
·Clear progression routes toward Principal and Associate levels
·Competitive salary with company-wide annual bonus
    ·Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
·Top-of-the-range laptop for home and office use
    ·Company mobile phone
·Birthday leave (additional paid day off)
    ·EV car salary sacrifice scheme
    ·Free on-site parking in a sought-after West Didsbury location
    ·On-site EV charging facilities
·Excellent public transport links, including a tram stop directly outside the office
·Strong chartership support from multiple chartered engineers, with salary and bonus uplifts on achievement
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who wants to step into a role offering technical leadership, variety of work, and long-term career progression within a consultancy that genuinely invests in its people.
