How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial Account Handler / Account Executive - West Midlands (Hybrid Working) - £27k-£35k - commutable from Coventry, Solihull, Birmingham, Warwick and surrounding areas
    We are working with a well established, independent insurance brokerage in the West Midlands who are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join their growing team.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in commercial / B2B insurance who enjoys managing existing client relationships and delivering high levels of service, rather than focusing on new business generation.

    Your role will involve:

    You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial clients, acting as a key point of contact for all servicing needs. The role is primarily focused on retention, renewals, and client support, ensuring clients receive tailored and cost-effective insurance solutions.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Managing renewals from start to finish, including re-broking where appropriate

    * Handling mid-term adjustments, queries, and general policy administration

    * Liaising with insurers to secure the best outcomes for clients

    * Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all documentation is compliant

    * Supporting clients with premium finance arrangements

    * Identifying cross-selling opportunities where suitable

    * Delivering a high standard of customer service at all times

    * Ensuring all work complies with FCA regulations and internal procedures

    What we need you to have:

    * Minimum 2+ years’ experience in commercial insurance (essential)

    * Strong understanding of B2B insurance products and processes

    * Excellent communication and relationship building skills

    * High attention to detail and strong organisational ability

    * Comfortable managing workloads and prioritising tasks

    * A proactive and professional approach to client service

    Desirable:

    * Experience using Acturis

    * Progress towards (or willingness to study for) Cert CII
