Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key technical leadership role, delivering innovative and efficient structural engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design. You will work on a variety of project types - including commercial, residential, education, industrial and infrastructure - and act as a trusted engineer for both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the structural design and technical delivery of projects in accordance with UK standards and regulatory requirements.
Produce and review detailed structural calculations, drawings, BIM models (2D/3D), specifications and reports.
Provide engineering judgment on material selection (steel, concrete, masonry, timber) and design strategies.
Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, technicians and project stakeholders to coordinate multidisciplinary designs.
Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians, fostering high technical standards and knowledge sharing.
Engage with clients and external partners to develop strong relationships and support business growth.
Ensure compliance with BIM protocols and project quality assurance processes.
Experience & Qualifications

Chartered or nearchartered status with a UK engineering institution (e.g., IStructE/ICE) preferred.
Strong track record in a UK structural design office with demonstrable experience across multiple project sectors.
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, with experience in BIM/Revit highly desirable.
Deep understanding of design codes, technical standards and UK construction best practices.
Excellent technical report writing, communication and leadership skills.
Ability to manage project budgets, deliverables and timelines effectively.
