Job Purpose
This role involves supervising day-to-day construction activities across clean water storage reservoir sites and water treatment works. The Site Supervisor will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of all works under their control.
To apply for this position candidates should have Full UK driving Licence and a SSSTS or SMSTS certificate.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
Ensure successful and timely completion of site works to the highest health, safety, and quality standards.
Plan current and upcoming work activities, ensuring labour, plant, and materials are in place.
Build and develop teams to meet all project requirements.
Manage and control labour, plant, and materials in line with programme objectives.
Supervise subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring only trained, competent, and authorised individuals undertake tasks.
Deliver briefings including start-of-shift talks, method statements, risk assessments, and toolbox talks, ensuring full understanding and compliance.
Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved method statements and relevant risk assessments.
Support the development of working methods and inputs for programme and method statement preparation.
Ensure permits are fully completed, validated, and adhered to.
Maintain accurate allocation sheets, delivery tickets, and plant returns.
Keep a comprehensive daily site diary, including variations, subcontractor attendance, and key discussions.
Carry out inspections of plant, equipment, and vehicles, reporting defects immediately.
Interpret and apply engineering and statutory drawings.
Act as a positive role model, demonstrating company values and professional behaviour at all times.
Health & Safety
Take reasonable care for personal safety and the safety of others, and cooperate with all health and safety requirements.
Maintain a tidy, organised, and safe workplace, ensuring clear access routes for people and plant.
Understand working arrangements with other contractors to avoid ambiguity around responsibilities.
Ensure hazardous materials are stored, handled, used, and disposed of in line with COSHH requirements.
Prevent employees from taking unnecessary risks and ensure no tasks exceed individual capability.
Stop any unsafe activity and only allow work to resume when conditions are safe.
Report all incidents, near misses, and injuries immediately and support incident investigations.
Carry out regular safety inspections and implement recommended actions.
Environmental
Comply with all environmental legislation and company procedures.
Monitor and manage site waste effectively.
Control dust and minimise site nuisance wherever possible.
Report environmental incidents promptly and support investigations.
Conduct regular environmental inspections and implement corrective actions.
Quality
Monitor and maintain high-quality standards on site, ensuring all work meets specification requirements first time.
Identify, document, and report non-conformances.

Knowledge & Skills
Proven experience in a site supervision role within the utilities sector, ideally in the water industry.
Experience in clean water storage reservoir maintenance is advantageous.
Knowledge of industry repair techniques such as concrete joint repairs, waterproofing, membrane installation, drainage works, and pipework installation/modification.
Experience
Previous experience supervising operational teams and subcontractors on utility or water infrastructure projects is essential.
