How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Up to £45,000 + Package

Want a role where you're involved in full project design, not just stuck behind a screen churning out drawings?

I'm working with a well-established air conditioning contractor with a strong pipeline of commercial projects, and they're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team.

    The Role

You'll be involved in full HVAC design from concept through to delivery, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders across a range of commercial projects.

Producing detailed HVAC designs, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
Carrying out engineering calculations, including heat loads, airflow, and system sizing
Selecting and sizing plants such as AHUs, chillers, heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems and associated equipment
Producing technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and submittals
Coordinating with CAD/BIM teams to deliver fully integrated designs
Liaising with clients, architects, and suppliers
Supporting projects through installation, commissioning, and handover
Conducting site surveys and providing technical support during project deliveryWhat You'll Need

Experience in HVAC / Building Services design
Strong understanding of systems, plant selection, and engineering calculations
Knowledge of UK regulations and standards (CIBSE, BSRIA, Building Regs)
Experience using design software and BIM tools
Ability to manage workload and work both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and coordination skillsThe successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be on up to £45,000, depending on experience + strong package, and the opportunity to work on varied projects and develop within a growing business.

If you're a Design Engineer looking for more involvement across the full project lifecycle and a role where your work actually has impact, this is worth a chat.
