About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and customer-focused professional to join a Compliance and Enforcement Team on a maternity cover basis. In this senior role, you will support the delivery of an effective compliance and enforcement service, ensuring that development activities adhere to approved plans under the Planning Acts. Your responsibilities will include managing complex investigations into reported breaches of planning control, as well as handling appeals arising from enforcement actions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with expertise in town planning and planning enforcement to contribute to a forward-thinking team in a dynamic local authority environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Investigate and manage complex compliance and enforcement cases related to unauthorised developments.
* Ensure development activities comply with approved plans and planning regulations.
* Handle appeals and provide robust evidence to support enforcement decisions.
* Collaborate with the team to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service.
* Maintain clear communication and negotiation with stakeholders, including developers, residents, and internal teams.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in town planning and planning enforcement.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex caseloads.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork abilities.
* A proactive and customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location and Work Pattern:
* Office Location: Hampshire
* Hybrid Working: 2 days remote, 3 days in the office (specific days to be agreed with the line manager).
