How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias)
    Location: Cardiff
    Salary: £43,000 – £45,000 + Bonus
    Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm)

    A well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Cardiff is currently looking to strengthen its engineering team with the appointment of a skilled Maintenance Technician with a strong electrical bias.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across site equipment
    Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
    Fault finding and troubleshooting on PLC-controlled machinery
    Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance
    Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations
    Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with health & safety standards
    Key Requirements:

    Electrically biased with relevant engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent)
    Proven experience in a Maintenance Technician or similar role within a manufacturing environment
    Strong PLC fault finding and troubleshooting experience
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
    Good communication skills and a flexible attitude
