Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a General Manager on behalf of one of our clients.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a well-established manufacturing business within the interior design sector, specialising in premium, handcrafted decorative products. This is a key leadership role overseeing both office-based functions and on-site production operations, ensuring strong financial performance, operational efficiency, and a high-performing team culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Full ownership of P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Lead, manage and develop both office and production teams.
Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, logistics, and administration.
Drive operational improvements and efficiencies across the site.
Ensure production output meets quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Collaborate with sales and commercial teams to support business growth.
Implement and monitor KPIs across all departments.
Maintain a strong focus on health & safety and compliance.
Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in a General Manager or Operations Manager position.
Strong background within a manufacturing or production-led environment.
Demonstrable experience managing P&L and budgets.
Confident people leader with experience managing multi-functional teams.
Commercially astute with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
Experience working within SME or owner-led businesses is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
