Senior Estimator

Platinum Search Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing main contractor based in Kent, who are looking to appoint a Senior Estimator to support their expanding commercial team on a permanent full time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, reputable business delivering a diverse range of projects across the South East, including refurbishment, heritage, and new build schemes. Please note this is a full time office based role.

Our client is seeking to appoint an Estimator with heritage experience to take on a key role within their pre-construction function, following a planned retirement within the team. Working closely with the Directors and trusted supply chain, you will be involved in pricing a broad range of projects, typically valued between £100k and £2m, with increasing exposure to schemes up to £4m.

Senior Estimator Responsbilities:

* Preparing competitive and accurate tenders from drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation

* Producing detailed take-offs and building rates from first principles

* Sourcing and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations

* Compiling clear and commercially robust tender submissions, including risk allowances and exclusions

* Engaging with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners throughout the tender process

* Attending tender interviews and contributing to pre-construction activities

* Supporting continuous improvement in estimating processes and cost planning

Senior Estimator Requirements:

* Demonstrable experience in an Estimator role within a main contractor setting

* Strong technical understanding of construction methods and pricing mechanisms

* Confident in measurement and cost build-ups using a structured approach (experience with BOQ/SMM7 advantageous)

* Good knowledge of subcontractor markets and procurement routes

* High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail

* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

* Comfortable working within a small, office-based team
